The American Institute for Management Development (AIMD) is a professional organization devoted to advancement of the practice of management. The mission of the Institute is to encourage life-long managerial development, increase the competency of practicing managers, and to recognize managerial competence. As such the Institute conducts training programs in a number of areas of management and issues professional designations.
The American Institute for Management Development (AIMD) issues the distinguished Diplomate in Management and Diplomate in Business Administration designations.
AIMD is the exclusive source of these designations.
The Diplomate designation is awarded based upon achieving a passing score on a competency-based examination, meeting necessary experience requirements, and agreeing to abide by the AIMD Code of Ethics. Diplomates are recorded in the Official Registry of the American Institute for Management Development and receive an official diploma recognizing
their accomplishments and designations.
The professional designations of Diplomate in Management (DM) and Diplomate in Business Administration (DBA) are the exclusive certification marks of American Institute for Management Development and entitle the designee to use the letters DBA and DM behind his/her name.
Additional diplomate designations are offered through the submission of a professional portfolio. Diplomate designations can be awarded in project management, marketing management, international business, and strategic management. Please contact the Institute for details.
